Marine Project Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Marine Project Engineer to manage and implement retrofit projects for steering control systems / dynamic positioning systems for large deep-sea vessels.
EMRI is a rapidly growing maritime technology company. We develop control and navigation systems for large ships and are leaders in our field. EMRI's systems ensure precise navigation and thus better utilization of the ships' fuel, leading to reduction of fuel emissions. That is something we are proud of.
We are revamping our entire product portfolio and developing the maritime steering control systems of the future. At the same time, we are growing our retrofit business.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Marine Project Engineer to manage and implement retrofit projects for steering control systems / dynamic positioning systems for large deep-sea vessels, including cruise ships and mega-yachts.
You will be end-to-end responsible for all technical aspects including pre-installation inspections, system design, cable- and installation drawings, software updates, commissioning, and documentation.
You will carry out Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT), Sea trial Acceptance Test (SAT) and will cooperate with all stakeholders while supporting EMRI’s sales organization.
You will ensure that the installations adhere to regulatory and class requirements.
Expect around 30 travel days per year.
About You
Your professional competencies:
- A relevant technical education and experience.
- Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Marine Engineer.
- Ideally shore-based experience from a maritime electronics supplier or service engineer experience.
- Flair for electronics and good understanding of PLC systems.
- Fluent in English.
- EU working permit.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with Autocad or SEE Electrical.
- Experience in converting and upgrading of bridge electronics.
- Knowledge within some of the following areas: Autopilots & track control systems, joystick/DP systems, PC systems, steering control system, PLC systems, rudder indicator systems, custom designed bridge Instrumentation.
- Have worked with Omron PLC.
